DTC 8-1: Abs Function

  1. Test drive vehicle 12 MPH or more for at least 2 minutes. If ABS indicator light goes out, go to next step. If ABS indicator light stays on, verify DTC. If a code other than DTC 8-1 sets, see appropriate DTC. If DTC 8-1 resets, replace ABS control unit.
  2. System has returned to normal. Check for loose wheel speed sensor connectors and for proper installation of wheel speed sensors. If wheel speed sensors and connectors check okay, probable cause was driving over rough roads.
