Set/Resume/Cancel Switch Test
- Disable air bag system. See appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article. Remove instrument panel lower cover. Disconnect combination switch Blue 20-pin connector, located under left side of instrument panel.
- Using DVOM, check continuity at combination switch 20-pin connector. See SET/RESUME/CANCEL SWITCH CONTINUITY AT 20-PIN CONNECTOR table. See Fig 1 . If continuity exists as specified, switch is okay at this time. If continuity does not exist in each position as specified, go to next step.
- Remove upper and lower steering column covers. Disconnect combination switch 4-pin connector from cable reel. Using DVOM, check continuity of Light Green/Black wire between 4-pin connector terminal No. 3 and 20-pin connector terminal No. 4; Light Green/Red wire between 4-pin connector terminal No. 4 and 20-pin connector terminal No. 13; and Light Green/Blue wire between 4-pin connector terminal No. 2 and 20-pin connector terminal No. 16. See Fig 1 . See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, replace combination switch harness.
- Remove SET/RESUME/CANCEL switch. See SET/RESUME/CANCEL SWITCH under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Use DVOM to check continuity between switch terminals as specified. See SET/RESUME/CANCEL SWITCH CONTINUITY table. See Fig 1 . If continuity does not exist as specified, replace SET/RESUME/CANCEL switch. See SET/RESUME/CANCEL SWITCH under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If continuity exists, replace cable reel.
