PGM-FI Main Relay
NOTE:
If the car starts and continues to run, the main relay is OK.
- Remove the PGM-FI main relay. See Figure.
- Attach the battery positive terminal to terminal No. 3 and the battery negative terminal to terminal No. 2 of the PGM-FI main relay. Then check for continuity between terminal No. 5 and terminal No. 2 of the PGM-FI main relay. See Fig 1. If there is continuity, go on to next step. If there is no continuity, replace the relay and retest.
- Attach the battery positive terminal to terminal No. 4 and the battery negative terminal to terminal No. 7 of the PGM-FI main relay. Then check that there is continuity between terminal No. 3 and terminal No. 1 of the PGM-FI main relay. If there is continuity, go on to next step. If there is no continuity, replace the relay and retest.
- Attach the battery positive terminal to terminal No. 1 and battery negative terminal to terminal No. 2 of the PGM-FI main relay. Then check that there is continuity between the No. 5 terminal and No. 2 terminal of the PGM-FI main relay. If there is no continuity, replace the relay and retest. If there is continuity, the relay is okay. If the fuel pump still does not work, test the PGM-FI main relay circuit according to the flow charts. See Fig 2-Fig 4 .
