Ignition Timing

Ensure ignition timing is set to specification. See IGNITION TIMING (DEGREES BTDC - RED MARK @ RPM)  table. For adjustment procedures, see ON-VEHICLE ADJUSTMENTS article.

(2) Man. Trans. 14-18 @ 700-800
(3) Auto. Trans. (4) 14-18 @ 700-800
MDX 8-12 @ 680-780
3.2CL & 3.2TL 8-12 @ 630-730
3.5RL 13-17 @ 600-700
(1) Install Service Check Connector Tool (07PAZ-0010100) to service check connector before checking timing.
(2) With manual transmission in Neutral.
(3) With automatic transmission in Neutral or Park.
(4) B18C5 engine is set at 750-850 RPM.
