Dust and Pollen Filter Replacement

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Acura 3.2CL and 2002 Acura 3.2CL. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The dust and pollen filter should be replaced every 30,000 miles (48,000 km) or 24 months, whichever comes first. Replace the filters more often if the air flow is less than usual.

  1. Remove the glove box .
  2. Cut the plastic cross brace (A) in the glove box opening with diagonal cutters in the area shown. Remove the cross brace and the two mounting screws (B) from the glove box opening. Retain these parts to be reinstalled later.

  3. Remove the filter lid (A) from the evaporator, then pull out the upper and lower dust and pollen filters (B).

  4. Remove and replace the filter (A) from the housing (B).

  5. Install the filters in the reverse order of removal. Make sure that there is no air leaking out of the evaporator.
  6. Install the cross brace (A) into the glove box opening by aligning the tabs (B) with the slots (C).

  7. Secure the cross brace with the two mounting screws (D) removed in step 2.
  8. Reinstall the glove box.
