Mode Control Motor

  1. Disconnect mode control motor 10-pin harness connector. Connect battery voltage to mode control motor terminal No. 1, and ground terminal No. 2. See Fig 1 . Mode control motor should run smoothly and stop at vent. Reverse connections and mode control motor should run smoothly and stop at defrost.
    NOTE: Disconnect battery power immediately when motor stops running.
  2. With mode control motor running, check for continuity between terminal No. 10 and terminals No. 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 individually. Continuity should momentarily exist between each terminal.
  3. If mode control motor still does not run, remove mode control motor. Check mode control motor linkage and doors for smooth operation. Repair as necessary. If doors and linkage are okay, replace mode control motor.
