A/T Gear Position Indicator Input
- Disable air bag system. See appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article. Remove instrument cluster from instrument panel. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Check for bent, corroded, loose or disconnected terminals in connector. Repair connectors as necessary and recheck system.
- Test each circuit at specified connector for continuity or voltage as indicated. Repair as necessary. See Fig 1 . See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If all gear position indicator input tests are okay, replace instrument cluster printed circuit board. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
