Cruise Control Systems: Operation
Cruise control system maintains any set speed greater than 25 MPH. To set speed, press cruise control main switch to ON position and press SET switch when vehicle reaches desired speed. Cruise indicator light will come on. Pressing cancel switch and cruise control main switch to OFF position will cancel cruise control system operation and erase vehicle speed from memory.
If system is disengaged temporarily by brake switch or A/T gear position switch, pressing RESUME switch will return vehicle to set speed. When RESUME switch is pressed and set speed is retained in memory, vehicle will return to previously set speed.
Pressing and holding RESUME switch will gradually increase vehicle speed without having to press accelerator pedal. When RESUME switch is released, system is reprogrammed for new speed.
For gradual deceleration without pressing brake pedal, press and hold SET switch until desired speed is reached. When desired speed is reached, release SET switch.
