2.3CL, 3.0CL & 3.2TL

  1. Check steering wheel position. If steering wheel is not centered, check toe-in adjustment. See TOE-IN ADJUSTMENT  . If toe-in adjustment is okay, remove and reinstall steering wheel on steering shaft splines in a straight ahead position.
  2. Caster angle can be adjusted by increasing or decreasing number of radius rod adjusting shims. Shims are .13" (3.3 mm) thick. Each shim will change caster adjustment .58 degree. Maximum correction is 1.17 degrees (2 shims).
  3. If caster adjustment is necessary, raise and support vehicle. Remove self-locking nut on end of radius rod. Remove radius rod flange bolts and remove radius rod. Install adjusting shim(s) on radius rod side of bushing. Tighten radius rod flange bolts and self-locking nut to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Ensure caster adjustment is within specification. See WHEEL ALIGNMENT SPECIFICATIONS  .
