- Check for PGM-FI DTCs (see
GENERAL TROUBLESHOOTING INFORMATION
).
- Check horn operation.
- Check cruise control set/decel, resume/accel, cancel switch (see CRUISE CONTROL SET/DECEL, RESUME/ACCEL, CANCEL SWITCH TEST/REPLACEMENT
).
- Test brake pedal position switch (see
BRAKE PEDAL POSITION SWITCH TEST
) and check its adjustment (see
BRAKE PEDAL AND BRAKE PEDAL POSITION SWITCH ADJUSTMENT
).
- Test clutch pedal position switch (see CRUISE CONTROL ACTUATOR CABLE ADJUSTMENT
) and check its adjustment (M/T) (see
CLUTCH PEDAL, CLUTCH PEDAL POSITION SWITCH, AND CLUTCH INTERLOCK SWITCH ADJUSTMENT
).
- Check transmission range switch (A/T) (see
TRANSMISSION RANGE SWITCH TEST
).
- Do cruise control unit input test (see CRUISE CONTROL UNIT INPUT TEST
).
- Check for continuity between powertrain control module (PCM) connector terminal E25 and cruise control unit 14P connector terminal No. 12. (A/T)
- If there is continuity, replace PCM.
- If there is no continuity, repair open or short in the wire.

- Blown No. 4 (10 A) fuse in the underhood fuse/relay box
- Blown No. 7 (15 A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box
- Poor ground: G101 (A/T), G402 (M/T), G401, G451
- Faulty horn relay
- Open circuit, loose or disconnected terminals between cruise control unit and cruise control inputs
