Voice Control Switch Test/Replacement

  1. Remove the driver's airbag assembly (see DRIVER'S AIRBAG REPLACEMENT ).
  2. Disconnect the 5P connector (A), the IP connector (B) and the 1P connector (C) from the radio remote switch (D).

  3. Measure the resistance between the 5P connector No. 2 terminal and 1P connector (C) in each switch position according to the table.
    POSITION AND RESISTANCE DESCRIPTION

    Position Resistance
    OFF about 10 k Ω
    Talk about 3.2 k Ω
    Back about 1.6 k Ω
  4. If the resistance is not as specified, go to step 5.
  5. Remove the four screws and the cruise control set/resume/cancel switch (E) from the steering wheel.
  6. Remove the four screws and the radio remote switch.
