Alternator Removal and Installation: Installation

Install the three bolts securing the alternator.

Connect the alternator connector (A) and BLK wire (B) to the alternator. Make sure the crimped side of the ring terminal faces away from the starter when you connect it.

Install the auto-tensioner (see DRIVE BELT AUTO-TENSIONER REPLACEMENT ).
Install the drive belt (see DRIVE BELT INSPECTION ).
Connect the negative cable to the battery.
Enter the anti-theft codes for the audio system and the navigation system (if equipped), then enter the audio presets. Set the clock (on vehicles without navigation).
