Navigation cannot control HVAC by voice command

NOTE:
  • Check the vehicle battery condition first.
  • Check for and resolve all CAN DTCs before troubleshooting the navigation system.
  • Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.
  • Before troubleshooting, get the navigation system anti-theft codes.
  • After troubleshooting, enter the navigation system anti-theft codes.
  • Verify that the correct navigation unit is installed for this model. Go into the Diagnostic mode and use Version (see VERSION  ).
  • Make sure that the correct DVD color and version are installed.
  • Check any official Honda service web site for more service information about the navigation system.
  1. Connect the HDS to the DLC (see GENERAL TROUBLESHOOTING INFORMATION ).
  2. Clear DTCs with the HDS.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), and then back ON (II).
  4. Check for B-CAN DTCs in the data list.

    Are there any DTCs in the B-CAN systems? 

    YES  -Troubleshoot and repair all CAN related DTCs and retest.

    NO  -Go to step 5.

  5. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  6. Remove the audio-HVAC display module assembly (see AUDIO-HVAC DISPLAY MODULE ASSEMBLY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ), and disconnect display panel control unit connector B (5P).
    NOTE: Eject all the discs before removing the audio unit to prevent damaging the CD/DVD player's load mechanism.
  7. Disconnect climate control unit connector A (20P).
  8. Check for continuity between the display panel control unit connector B (5P) and body ground according to the table.

    Is there continuity? 

    YES  -Repair short to body ground in the wire(s) between the display panel control unit and the climate control unit.

    NO  -Go to step 9.

  9. Check for continuity between display panel control unit connector B (5P) and climate control unit connector A (20P) according to the table.

    Is there continuity? 

    YES  -Go to step 10.

    NO  -Repair open in the wire(s) between the display panel control unit and the climate control unit.

  10. Reconnect the display panel control unit connector B (5P) and climate control unit connector A (20P).
  11. Substitute a known-good climate control unit and recheck the function.

    Does the problem go away? 

    YES  -Replace the original climate control unit.

    NO  -Substitute a known-good display panel control unit and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original display panel control unit. If the symptom/indication is still present, replace the navigation unit.
