DTC 1203: DVD Temp Error

NOTE:
  • Check the vehicle battery condition first (see BATTERY TEST )
  • Before you troubleshoot, make sure to follow the general troubleshooting information (see GENERAL TROUBLESHOOTING INFORMATION )
  • This navigation DTC sets when the internal temperature of the ECU falls below -4 °F (-20 °C) or above 158 °F (70 °C). The unit is designed to shut down to protect the ECU. This is usually caused by exterior temperatures. Do the troubleshooting when the unit is within the allowable temperature range.
  1. Check that the temperature is between -4 °F (-20 °C), below 158 °F (70 °C) in dash
  2. Check the most recent DTC (see HOW TO CHECK ERROR HISTORY )
  3. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode, then back to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode
  4. Check the most recent DTC (see HOW TO CHECK ERROR HISTORY )

    Is DTC 1203 indicated at the time you cycled the vehicle? 

    YES  -Replace the audio-navigation unit (see AUDIO-NAVIGATION UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )

    NO  -Go to step 5

  5. Check the audio-navigation unit cooling fan on the back of the audio-navigation unit to see if it is blocked.

    Is the fan blocked? 

    YES  -Clean or clear the audio-navigation unit cooling fan, and recheck

    NO  -Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time If the vehicle repeatedly comes back with the DTC, replace the audio-navigation unit
