EPS Control Unit Operation: Notes
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2011 Acura TL, 2010 Acura TL, and 2009 Acura TL. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
The EPS control unit controls the EPS motor by these signals
- Vehicle speed signal (for PCM)
- Engine speed signal (for PCM)
- Torque sensor signal
At idle or low vehicle speeds, the EPS control unit sends a signal to the PCM to increase the engine idle speed to prevent the engine from stalling
If the EPS control unit detects a failure in the system, it stores a DTC and sends a signal to the gauge control
