Driver's Power Window Motor Test
Motor Test
- Remove the power window master switch (see REAR POWER WINDOW SWITCH TEST )
- Test the motor in each direction by connecting battery power and ground to the door multiplex control unit 37P connector (A) according to the table
- If the motor does not run or fails to run smoothly, go to step 4, if the motor runs smoothly, go to step 8
- Remove the door panel (see FRONT DOOR PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Disconnect the 6P connector (A) from the driver's power window motor (B)
- Check for continuity between door multiplex, control unit 37P connector terminals No 12 and No 24, and driver's power window motor 6P connector terminals No 1 and No 4 respectively There should be continuity
DOOR MULTIPLEX DRIVER'S POWER
CONTROL UNIT 37P WINDOW MOTOR 6P
CONNECTOR CONNECTOR
Terminal No 12 Terminal No 4
Terminal No 24 Terminal No 1
- If the wire harness is OK, replace the driver's power window motor
Pulser Test
- Check for continuity between driver's power window motor 6P connector terminal No 2 and body ground There should be continuity
- If there is continuity, go to step 9
- If there is no continuity, check for an open in the BLK wire or poor ground (G501)
- Do the power window master switch input test terminals No 3, No 20, and No 22 (see POWER WINDOW MASTER SWITCH INPUT TEST )
