DTC B1008: MICU Lost Communication with Gauge Control Module (A/T Message)

NOTE:
If you are troubleshooting multiple DTC's, be sure to follow the instructions in B-CAN system diagnosis Test Mode A (see TROUBLESHOOTING - B-CAN SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS TEST MODE A
).
- Clear the DTCs using the HDS.
- Cycle the ignition switch to OFF, and then back ON.
- Check for DTCs using the HDS.
Is DTC B1008 indicated?
YES -Go to step 4.
NO -Intermittent failure, the gauge control module is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections. If the connections are good, check the battery condition (see BATTERY TEST ) and the charging system (see CHARGING SYSTEM INDICATOR CIRCUIT TROUBLESHOOTING ).
- Check for DTCs in the relay control module using the HDS.
Are DTCs B1061 and B1808 also indicated?
YES -Go to the GAUGE CONTROL MODULE INPUT TEST .
NO -Check for an open, or a short to power or ground in the communication circuit between the MICU and the gauge control module. If the circuit is OK, replace the MICU. If the circuit is bad, repair the open, or short to power or ground.
