When the adaptive front lighting control unit is replaced (a brand new adaptive front lighting control unit is installed)
NOTE:
If the AFS indicator is blinking, check the DTCs.
- Remove all baggage from the vehicle.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
- Make sure the AFS indicator does not turn off. (If the AFS indicator turns off, the adaptive front lighting control unit is not a new or previously learned unit.)
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0) and then back to ON (II).
- Within 5 seconds, turn the headlight switch ON/OFF or to passing three times.
- Make sure the AFS indicator blinks in a 1 second cycle. (If the indicator does not blink, return to step 2.)
- Turn the headlights ON, and make sure the headlights move while the AFS control unit runs the initialization function (see INITIALIZE FUNCTION ).
- Turn the steering wheel to the left or to the right 90 degrees or more from the center position.
- Test-drive, with only the driver in the vehicle, in a straight line for 98.4 feet (30 m) at least 16 mph (25 km/h).
- Make sure the AFS indicator turns off. (If the indicator does not turn off, repeat the steps 8 and 9.)
- Adjust the headlights (see HEADLIGHT ADJUSTMENT ).
