DTC U0114: F-CAN Malfunction (ECM/PCM-SH-AWD Control Unit)
- Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.
- Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.
Are DTC U0029 and U0114 indicated at the same time?
YES -Go to troubleshooting for DTC U0029 (see DTC U0029: F-CAN MALFUNCTION (BUS-OFF (ECM/PCM)) ).
NO -Go to step 3.
- Clear the DTC with the HDS.
- Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC U0114 indicated?
YES -Go to step 5.
NO -Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the SH-AWD control unit and the ECM/PCM.
- Check for communication to the SH-AWD system with the HDS.
Does the HDS communicate with the SH-AWD control unit?
YES -Go to step 6.
NO -Go to the SH-AWD symptom troubleshooting for the SH-AWD indicator does not go off, and no DTCs are stored (see SYMPTOM TROUBLESHOOTING ).
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.
- Jump the SCS line with the HDS.
- Disconnect SH-AWD control unit connector A (20P).
- Disconnect ECM/PCM connector A (49P).
- Check for continuity between ECM/PCM connector terminals A48 and SH-AWD control unit connector A (20P) terminal No. 10.Fig 1: Checking Continuity Between ECM/PCM Connector Terminals A48 And SH-AWD Control Unit Connector A (20P) Terminal No. 10

Is there continuity?
YES -Go to step 11.
NO -Repair open in the wire between the ECM/PCM (A48) and the SH-AWD control unit, then go to step 12.
- Check for continuity between ECM/PCM connector terminal A49 and SH-AWD control unit connector A (20P) terminal No. 20.Fig 2: Checking Continuity Between ECM/PCM Connector Terminal A49 And SH-AWD Control Unit Connector A (20P) Terminal No. 20

Is there continuity?
YES -Update the SH-AWD control unit if it does not have the latest software (see SH-AWD CONTROL UNIT UPDATE ), or substitute a known-good SH-AWD control unit (see SH-AWD CONTROL UNIT REPLACEMENT ), then go to step 12 and recheck. If DTC U0114 is not indicated after substitution, replace the original SH-AWD control unit (see SH-AWD CONTROL UNIT REPLACEMENT ), then go to step 12.
NO -Repair open in the wire between the PCM (A49) and the SH-AWD control unit, then go to step 12.
- Reconnect all connectors.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.
- Reset the ECM/PCM with the HDS.
- Do the ECM/PCM idle learn procedure (see PCM IDLE LEARN PROCEDURE ).
- Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC U0114 indicated?
YES -Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the SH-AWD control unit and the ECM/PCM, then go to step 1.
NO -Troubleshooting is complete. If any other Pending or Confirmed DTCs are indicated, go to the INDICATED DTC'S TROUBLESHOOTING .
