How to Check the HandsFreeLink System Status
NOTE:
- If the vehicle is equipped with AcuraLink, refer to the AcuraLink Self-Diagnostic Function .
- Check the vehicle battery condition first .
- The self-diagnostic function can only be initiated while the HFL system is in its idle state.
- The self-diagnostic function starts after you press and hold the HANG-UP/BACK button on the audio remote-HFL switch for 5 seconds, and ends if the HandsFreeLink control unit returns to its idle state.
1. Press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode
2. Press and hold the HANG-UP/BACK button (A) for more than 5 seconds.
3. When the HFL system enters the self-diagnostic function, the following will occurs:
- HANDSFREELINK SYSTEM SYMPTOM TROUBLESHOOTING - HFL DOES NOT RESPOND(WITH NAVIGATION) (2013-15) , HANDSFREELINK SYSTEM SYMPTOM TROUBLESHOOTING - HFL DOES NOT RESPOND(WITH NAVIGATION) (2016-17) , & HANDSFREELINK SYSTEM SYMPTOM TROUBLESHOOTING - HFL DOES NOT RESPOND(WITHOUT NAVIGATION) (2013-17) .
- If the HFL system is OK, and there are no HFL DTCs, the HFL system says, "The HFT is OK."
- If there are any HFL DTCs stored, the HFL system says, "The HFT is NG." Check for HFL DTCs - Refer to: How to Troubleshoot the HandsFreeLink System (2013-17), or How to Troubleshoot the HandsFreeLink System(With navigation) (2016-17) .
