Keyless Buzzer Circuit Troubleshooting (2014 2015)
- Open wire check (PGND line)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
- 2. Disconnect the following connector.
Keyless/power tailgate outside buzzer 3P connector - Refer to: Keyless/Power Tailgate Outside Buzzer Removal and Installation, or Keyless/Power Tailgate Outside Buzzer Removal and Installation - 3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Keyless/power tailgate outside buzzer 3P connector: disconnected Test circuit PGND Test point 1 Keyless/power tailgate outside buzzer 3P connector No. 3 (BLK) Test point 2 Body ground Is there continuity?
YES
The PGND wire is OK. Go to step 2.
NO
Repair an open or high resistance in the ground wire or poor ground (G603).
- Open wire check (EXT BUZZ line)
-1. Disconnect the following connector.
Rear fuse/relay box connector A (44P) - 2. Connect terminals A and B with a jumper wire.
Terminal A Keyless/power tailgate outside buzzer 3P connector No. 2 (YEL) Terminal B Body ground - 3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Keyless/power tailgate outside buzzer 3P connector: disconnected Keyless/power tailgate outside buzzer 3P connector: jumped to body groundRear fuse/relay box connector A (49P): disconnected Test circuit EXT BUZZ Test point 1 Rear fuse/relay box connector A (49P) No. 14 (WHT) Test point 2 Body ground Is there continuity?
YES
The EXT BUZZ wire is not open. Go to step 3.
NO
Repair an open or high resistance in the wire.
- Shorted wire check (EXT BUZZ line)
-1. Remove the jumper wire from the keyless buzzer 3P connector.
- 2. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Keyless/power tailgate outside buzzer 3P connector: disconnected Rear fuse/relay box connector A (49P): disconnected Test circuit EXT BUZZ Test point 1 Rear fuse/relay box connector A (49P) No. 14 (WHT) Test point 2 Body ground Is there continuity?
YES
Repair a short to ground in the wire.
NO
The EXT BUZZ wire is OK. Go to step 4.
- Keyless/power tailgate outside buzzer check (substitution)
-1. Substitute a known-good keyless buzzer.
- 2. Check the keyless buzzer function.
Does the keyless buzzer sound?
YES
Replace the original keyless buzzer - Refer to: Keyless/Power Tailgate Outside Buzzer Removal and Installation, or Keyless/Power Tailgate Outside Buzzer Removal and Installation .
NO
Faulty rear MICU, replace the rear fuse/relay box .
