HandsFreeLink Control Unit Update: Procedure

NOTE:
  • Before you update the HandsFreeLink control unit, check the vehicle battery condition first - Refer to: Battery Test (2014 2015), or Battery Test (2016) , and connect a jumper battery (not a battery charger) to maintain system voltage.
  • Never turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode during the update. If there is a problem with the update, leave the vehicle in ON mode.
  • To ensure the latest program is installed, do a HandsFreeLink control unit update whenever the HandsFreeLink control unit is substituted or replaced.
  • The HandsFreeLink control unit is updated via Bluetooth using the HFL control unit update application on the HDS PC. Make sure the HDS PC is inside the vehicle when updating the HandsFreeLink control unit.
