DTC (IDAS)
- Problem verification:
Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
- 2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.
Clear DTCs
- 3. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
- 4. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, then wait for at least 5 seconds.
- 5. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description DTC Freeze Frame P0589-15 Main Switch Signal Circuit Open Is DTC P0589-15 indicated?
YES
The failure is duplicated. Go to step 2.
NO
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Refer to intermittent failures troubleshooting . If the freeze data/on-board snapshot of this DTC is recorded, try to reproduce the failure under the same conditions with the Freeze data/on-board snapshot.
- Open wire check (CRUISE line) 1:
Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
- 2. Disconnect the following connector.
Select/reset/information switch 12P connector - 3. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
- 4. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle ON mode Select/reset/information switch 12P connector: disconnected Test point 1 Select/reset/information switch 12P connector No. 12 Test point 2 Body ground Is there about 5 V?
YES
The CRUISE wire is not open. Go to step 3.
NO
Go to step 7.
- ACC combination switch internal circuit check:
Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle ON mode Select/reset/information switch 12P connector: disconnected Test point 1 Select/reset/information switch 12P connector No. 6 Test point 2 Select/reset/information switch 12P connector No. 12 Is there about 5 V?
YES
Replace the steering wheel trim/select/reset/information switch .
NO
Go to step 4.
- Open wire check (CRUISE GND line) 1:
Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2 without disconnect the cable reel connector C (20P).
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Select/reset/information switch 12P connector: disconnected Test point 1 Cable reel connector C (20P) No. 19 Test point 2 Body ground Is there continuity?
YES
Repair an open in the wire between the ACC combination switch and the cable reel.
NO
Go to step 5.
- Open wire check (CRUISE GND line) 2:
Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2 without disconnect the cable reel connector A (20P).
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Select/reset/information switch 12P connector: disconnected Test point 1 Cable reel connector A (20P) No. 7 Test point 2 Body ground Is there continuity?
YES
NO
Go to step 6.
- Open wire check (CRUISE GND line) 3:
Disconnect the following connectors.
Gauge control module 32P connector Cable reel connector A (20P) - 2. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Select/reset/information switch 12P connector: disconnected Test point 1 Gauge control module 32P connector No. 30 Test point 2 Cable reel connector A (20P) No. 7 Is there continuity?
YES
The CRUISE GND wire is not open. Replace the gauge control module .
NO
Repair an open in the wire between the gauge control module and the cable reel.
- Open wire check (CRUISE line) 2:
Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle ON mode Select/reset/information switch 12P connector: disconnected Test point 1 Cable reel connector C (20P) No. 20 Test point 2 Body ground Is there about 5 V?
YES
Repair an open in the wire between the ACC combination switch and the cable reel.
NO
Go to step 8.
- Open wire check (CRUISE SW line) 1:
Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2 without disconnect the cable reel connector A (20P).
Test condition Vehicle ON mode Select/reset/information switch 12P connector: disconnected Test point 1 Cable reel connector A (20P) No. 8 Test point 2 Body ground Is there about 5 V?
YES
NO
Go to step 9.
- Open wire check (CRUISE SW line) 2:
Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
- 2. Disconnect the following connectors.
Gauge control module 32P connector Cable reel connector A (20P) - 3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF mode Select/reset/information switch 12P connector: disconnected Test point 1 Gauge control module 32P connector No. 4 Test point 2 Cable reel connector A (20P) No. 8 Is there continuity?
YES
The CRUISE wire is not open. Replace the gauge control module .
NO
Repair an open in the wire between the gauge control module and the cable reel.
