Keyless Access System Description - Components (2013-15)
Remote
The remote is equipped with a keyless transmitter, so both doors can be locked and unlocked by a lock/unlock button operation, even from a remote distance from the vehicle. When the key lock button or key unlock button is pressed, the keyless transmitter sends the applicable switch signal to the RF unit. After receiving the authentication at between RF unit and keyless access control unit, the door lock/unlock signals are sent to MICU through B-CAN communication.
Door Touch Sensor/Tailgate Outer Handle Switch/Door Lock Switches
You can unlock the doors without taking a key out while carrying the remote with you. The door touch sensor is incorporated in the driver and passenger door outer handles; all doors are unlocked by touching the outer handle.
The trunk release function of the remote unlocks the trunk by operating the trunk handle switch to activate the trunk release actuator. The keyless access control unit commands to unlock the trunk release actuator from the trunk handle signal, and the MICU controls the actuator.
Rear Bumper LF Antenna
The rear-bumper LF antenna is installed on the rear panel inside the rear bumper, and covers an area around the tailgate.
Inside Car LF Antenna
The LF antennas are installed in this vehicle interior: 1 in the front, 1 in the middle, 1 in the rear interiors. RF unit performs authentication to the remote control in the LF antenna, then sends the authentication signal to the keyless access control unit.
Front Interior LF Antenna
The front interior LF antenna is installed in the center lower cover on the lower center area of the instrument panel.
Middle Interior LF Antenna
The middle interior LF antenna is installed the floor of the lower rear side front seat.
Rear Interior LF Antenna
The rear interior LF antenna is installed the lower side cargo area.
Engine Start/Stop Switch
The start/stop switch can start or stop the engine by handling it without other handling items, under certain condition. Also, the start/stop switch includes LF antenna in its inside, receives immobilizer signal from the Honda smart key and communicates with the keyless access control unit.
Answer Back Buzzer
The answer back buzzer located inside the rear bumper sounds when locking and unlocking or for alarming.
