3. Inspect the connector and socket terminals to be sure they are all making good contact:

4. Reconnect the 37P connector to the control unit, do the following input tests:

Cavity Wire Test condition Test: Desired result Possible cause if desired result is not obtained
26 PNK Under all conditions Measure the voltage to ground: There should be battery voltage.
  • Blown No. C16 (10 A) fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box
  • Faulty driver's under-dash fuse/relay box
  • An open or high resistance in the wire
25 LT GRN Vehicle ON mode Measure the voltage to ground: There should be battery voltage.
  • Blown No. D26 (7.5 A) fuse in the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box
  • An open or high resistance in the wire
4 GRN Vehicle ON mode Measure the voltage to ground: There should be battery voltage.
  • Blown No. D19 (20 A) fuse in the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box
  • An open or high resistance in the wire
3 BRN In all power modes Measure the voltage to ground: There should be less than 0.2 V.
  • Poor ground (G502)
  • An open or high resistance in the ground wire
Cavity Wire Test condition Test: Desired result Possible cause if desired result is not obtained
31 BRN In all power modes Measure the voltage to ground: There should be less than 0.2 V.
  • Poor ground (G502)
  • An open or high resistance in the ground wire
11 PUR Vehicle ON mode, power mirror switch in EXTEND position Measure the voltage to ground: There should be less than 0.2 V.
  • Faulty power mirror switch
  • Poor ground (G502) or an open in the ground wire
  • An open or high resistance in the wire
Vehicle ON mode, power mirror switch in RETRACT position Measure the voltage to ground: There should be about 5 V.
  • Faulty power mirror switch
  • A short to ground in the wire

5. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

6. Disconnect the connector from the power window master switch, and do the following input tests:

NOTE:  After replacing the power window master switch, do the resetting the power window control unit .

Cavity Wire Test condition Test: Desired result Possible cause if desired result is not obtained
89 LT GRNLT BLU Vehicle ON mode, connect terminals No. 4 to No. 8 (or No. 9) and terminal No. 9 (or No. 8) to body ground with a jumper wire

NOTE:  if the mirror stops moving, disconnect battery power immediately.

Check the retract actuator operation: The left mirror should retract (or extend).
  • Faulty left retract actuator
  • An open or high resistance in the wire
15 PNK Vehicle ON mode, connect terminals No. 4 and No. 15 with a jumper wire Check the left power mirror defogger operation: The left power mirror defogger should work (the inside lower edge becomes warm).
  • Faulty left power mirror defogger
  • Poor ground (G502) or an open in the ground wire
  • An open or high resistance in the wire
37 ORN Vehicle ON mode, connect terminals No. 26 and No. 37 with a jumper wire Check the power mirror switch light operation: The power mirror switch light should come on.
  • Faulty LED
  • Faulty power mirror switch
  • Poor ground (G502) or an open in the ground wire
  • An open or high resistance in the wire
Cavity Wire Test condition Test: Desired result Possible cause if desired result is not obtained
36 BLU Disconnect these connectors:
  • Front passenger's power window switch 37P connector
  • Left rear power window switch 14P connector
  • Right rear power window switch 14P connector
  • Moonroof control unit/motor 14P connector
Check for continuity between terminal No. 36 and front passenger's power window switch 37P connector terminal No. 34: There should be continuity. An open in the LIN (P/W) wire
Check for continuity between terminal No. 36 and left rear power window switch 14P connector terminal No. 11: There should be continuity. An open in the LIN (P/W) wire
Check for continuity between terminal No. 36 and right rear power window switch 14P connector terminal No. 11: There should be continuity. An open in the LIN (P/W) wire
Check for continuity between terminal No. 36 and moonroof control unit/motor 14P connector terminal No. 12: There should be continuity. An open in the LIN (P/W) wire
Check for continuity to ground: There should be no continuity. A short to ground in the LIN (P/W) wire
