Audio Remote-HFL Switch Does Not Work (ODMD (TM) (Touch Screen) And Center Switch Buttons Work) (With Navigation)

NOTE: 

• Check the vehicle 12 volt battery condition first - Refer to: 12 Volt Battery Test (Without SH-AWD), or 12 Volt Battery Test (With SH-AWD) .
• Check for B-CAN DTCs and resolve them before troubleshooting.
• Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.

1. Problem verification

   - 1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

   - 2. Turn on the audio system, and using the audio remote-HFL switch buttons, check if the audio system and HFL system operates properly.

   Is the audio system and the HFL system operation OK?

   YES 

   Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.

   NO 

   The failure is duplicated, go to step 2.

2. Determine possible failure area (audio remote-HFL switch, others)

   - 1. Go into the System Diagnostic Mode, and use the Hard Key test under the Unit Check menu.

   - 2. Select the Steering Key to check the audio remote-HFL switch.

   Do all of the buttons fail to respond?

   YES 

   Go to step 3.

   NO 

   Replace the audio remote-HFL switch .

3. Open wire check (B-CAN_H line, B-CAN_L line)

   - 1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

   - 2. Disconnect the following connectors.

   NOTE:  Eject the disc before disconnecting the audio-navigation unit to prevent damaging the CD/DVD player's load mechanism.

   Audio-navigation unit connector A (24P)

   Gauge control module 32P connector

   - 3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

   Test condition	Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
   	Audio-navigation unit connector A (24P): disconnected
   	Gauge control module 32P connector: disconnected
   Test point 1	Audio-navigation unit connector A (24P) No. 4 - Refer to: Audio-Navigation Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (With Auto Idle Stop System) (2015-17), or Audio-Navigation Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (Without Auto Idle Stop System) (2015-17), or Audio-Navigation Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2018), or Audio-Navigation Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2019)
   Test point 2	Gauge control module 32P connector No. 25 - Refer to: Gauge Control Module Input Test (2015-17), or Gauge Control Module Input Test (2018-19)

   Test point 1	Audio-navigation unit connector A (24P) No. 2 - Refer to: Audio-Navigation Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (With Auto Idle Stop System) (2015-17), or Audio-Navigation Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (Without Auto Idle Stop System) (2015-17), or Audio-Navigation Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2018), or Audio-Navigation Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2019)
   Test point 2	Gauge control module 32P connector No. 26 - Refer to: Gauge Control Module Input Test (2015-17), or Gauge Control Module Input Test (2018-19)

   Is there continuity?

   YES 

   Replace the audio-navigation unit .

   NO 

   Repair an open in the wire (s) between the audio-navigation unit and the gauge control module.
