Audio-Navigation Unit Does Not Exit Anti-Theft Mode

NOTE: 

• Check the vehicle 12 volt battery condition first - Refer to: 12 Volt Battery Test (Without SH-AWD), or 12 Volt Battery Test (With SH-AWD) .
• Before you troubleshoot, make sure to follow the General Troubleshooting Information - Refer to: How to Troubleshoot the Audio System (With Auto Idle Stop System),  or How to Troubleshoot the Audio System (Without Auto Idle Stop System) .
• Check for F-CAN and B-CAN DTCs and resolve them before troubleshooting.
• Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.

1. Problem verification

   - 1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

   - 2. Press and hold the POWER ( ) button more than 2 seconds to release the anti-theft mode.

   Is the anti-theft mode released?

   YES 

   Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.

   NO 

   The failure is duplicated, go to step 2.

2. Open wire check (B-CAN_H line, B-CAN_L line)

   - 1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

   - 2. Disconnect the following connectors.

   NOTE:  Eject the disc before disconnecting the audio-navigation unit to prevent damaging the CD/DVD player's load mechanism.

   Audio-navigation unit connector A (24P)

   Gauge control module 32P connector

   - 3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

   Test condition	Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
   	Audio-navigation unit connector A (24P): disconnected
   	Gauge control module 32P connector: disconnected
   Test point 1	Audio-navigation unit connector A (24P) No. 4 - Refer to: Audio-Navigation Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (With Auto Idle Stop System) (2015-17), or Audio-Navigation Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (Without Auto Idle Stop System) (2015-17), or Audio-Navigation Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2018), or Audio-Navigation Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2019)
   Test point 2	Gauge control module 32P connector No. 25 - Refer to: Gauge Control Module Input Test (2015-17), or Gauge Control Module Input Test (2018-19)

   Test point 1

   Audio-navigation unit connector A (24P) No. 2 - Refer to: Audio-Navigation Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (With Auto Idle Stop System) (2015-17), or Audio-Navigation Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (Without Auto Idle Stop System) (2015-17), or Audio-Navigation Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2018), or Audio-Navigation Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2019)

   Test point 2

   Gauge control module 32P connector No. 26 - Refer to: Gauge Control Module Input Test (2015-17), or Gauge Control Module Input Test (2018-19)

   Is there continuity?

   YES 

   Replace the audio-navigation unit .

   NO 

   Repair an open in the wire (s) between the audio-navigation unit and the gauge control module.
