DTC P26C3: Internal Control Module Transmission Range Sensor Performance (A/T)

NOTE: 

• Before you troubleshoot, review the General Troubleshooting Information .
• This code is caused by an electrical circuit problem and cannot be caused by a mechanical problem in the transmission.

DTC (A/T)

1. DTC check

   -1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

   - 2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

   - 3. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

   - 4. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

   - 5. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.

   U12AA Lost Communication with Shifter

   Is DTC U12AA indicated?

   YES 

   Do the troubleshooting for DTC U12AA - Refer to: DTC Troubleshooting: U12AA (A/T, With CAN gateway),  or DTC Troubleshooting: U12AA (A/T, Without CAN gateway),  or DTC Troubleshooting: U12AA (A/T) (2018-19) .

   NO 

   Go to step 2.

2. Problem verification

   -1. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.

   P26C3 Internal Control Module Transmission Range Sensor Performance

   Is DTC P26C3 indicated?

   YES 

   The failure is duplicated. Faulty SBW shifter control module. Replace the SBW shifter assembly .

   NO 

   Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections and loose terminals between the SBW shifter control module and the TCM. If the freeze data/on-board snapshot of this DTC is recorded, try to reproduce the failure under the same conditions with the freeze data/on-board snapshot.
