SMS Function Check

NOTE: Make sure the contract procedure about AcuraLink™ is done.

The SMS Function Check tests the connection between the vehicle and the telematics service provider. It checks to make sure that the telematics control unit can send and receive SMS messages with the telematics service provider through the network.

1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

2. Press and hold the BACK, HOME, and MENU buttons until the Dealer Diagnostics menu screen is displayed (for about 10 seconds).

3. When the Dealer Diagnostics menu appears, select the DETAIL INFORMATION and SETTING (A).

NOTE: Swipe the touchpad to move the pointer (B) to the item you want to select, and click on the touchpad.

4. Select the UNIT CHECK (A) from the DETAIL INFORMATION and SETTING menu.

5. Select the TCU DIAG from the UNIT CHECK menu.

6. Select the TCU Test (A) from the TCU DIAG screen.

7. If you perform the TCU Test, the telematics control unit transmits a function check message to the telematics service provider to check a network connection. If the message was sent to the telematics service provider successfully, the telematics service provider sends reply (function check response) to the telematics control unit.

8. To end the System Diagnostic Mode, select the RETURN until the general screen is displayed, or turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
