Audio and Visual System Error Codes

NOTE: The audio and visual system can display a few error messages when some problems are detected with the system. This is not a complete list of audio and visual system error messages. Refer to symptom troubleshooting.

Center Display Unit Error Messages

Error Message Displayed	Possible Cause	Solution
Network communication lost.	Loss of communication with MOST bus. When the MOST bus communication is lost, the system shall be enforced to shutdown after 30 seconds.	See Most Bus Diagnostics Mode Refer to: Audio and Visual System Most Bus Diagnostics Mode (2019 2020 2021) or Audio and Visual System Most Bus Diagnostics Mode (2022 2023)

USB Error Messages

Error Message Displayed	Possible Cause	Solution
USB Error	Unsupported USB device is connected or unsupported file system	Check the files in the USB device. There is a possibility that the files have been damaged.
	USB device communication error	Connect the applicable USB device (see the Owner's Manual).
	The infotainment control unit failed to synchronize with the iPod.	Appears when the system does not acknowledge the iPod. Reconnect the iPod.
	Unsupported version iPod is connected.	Connect the applicable iPod (see the Owner's Manual).
The selected file cannot be played on this system	Music file (s) cannot be read with copyright protection. The data file cannot decode.	The WMA files or the AAC file cannot be read with the (DRM) copy protection rights. Check the files in the USB device (outside the stream scope, mismatch on a filename extension and actual file content, and others.).
USB Hub Error	A USB hub is connected between the infotainment control unit and the USB device.	Remove the USB hub, and reconnect the USB device to the infotainment control unit.

XM Error Messages

NOTE: Do these checks with the vehicle parked outside with a clear view of the southern horizon.

Error Message Displayed	Possible Cause	Solution
Check Tuner	Loss of communication with SXM module.	Replace the tuner unit - Refer to: Audio and Visual System Component Location Index or Audio and Visual System Component Location Index (2022 2023) .
Check Antenna	XM antenna/antenna lead error.	Do the Error Code: Check Antenna is displayed troubleshooting.
No Signal	Loss of signal.	Both terrestrial and satellite antennas have lost the signal. Park the vehicle outside with a clear view of the southern horizon.
Channel Not Available	Selected XM channel is not in service.	Try another XM channel.
Channel not subscribed. Call Sirius XM to subscribe	Selected XM channel is not subscribed.	Check the XM channel subscription status.
