Audio and Visual System OTA Error Codes

NOTE: The center display unit can indicate a few error messages with error code when some problems are detected with the OTA (Over the Air). The error code can check on the System Diagnostic Mode as OTA DTC .

Error Code Error Message Solution
0579 User cancelled the download.
  • Retry the download again if necessary.
057A Download failed. Please verify the vehicle has internet connection.
  • Check the telematics control unit (if equipped) and Wi-Fi connection.
  • Once internet connection is verified, try the download again.
  • If the download fails again, update using the USB.
  • If the download fails via USB, replace the infotainment control unit .
057B Failure to authenticate with server. Download management authentication failed.
  1. Reset the infotainment control unit by the following procedure:
  2. Retry the update via the following methods: Wi-Fi, telematics control unit, USB.
  3. If the update fails with all methods, do the TCU Test in the System Diagnostic Mode SMS Function Check  while there is good internet connection, and make sure it can access the network successfully. Record the information from the TCU Status screen.
  4. If the TCU Test fails multiple times, replace the telematics control unit . If the TCU Test was successful, and the update failed with all methods, contact Honda Tech Line for further diagnosis.
057C Download failed due to insufficient memory to save the update file. Have the customer delete some of the unwanted music, photos, or other files saved to the vehicle and try the update again.

057D Installation failed. Please try to update again.
  • Reset the infotainment control unit by the following procedure:

057F Invalid file detected. Please retry download and update process. Failed to positively validate digital signature of the download package.

  • If the update fails with all methods, do the TCU Test in the System Diagnostic Mode SMS Function Check  while there is good internet connection, and make sure it can access the network successfully. Record the information from the TCU Status screen.
  • If the TCU Test fails multiple times, replace the telematics control unit . If the TCU Test was successful, and the update failed with all methods, contact Honda Tech Line for further diagnosis.
05AB The software update was skipped due to previous errors. Please try to update again.

05AF Invalid file detected during USB update. Please restart update process. USB flow - Failed ZIP validation due to device ID mismatch or software version mismatch.
  • Retry the USB update using another USB drive.
  • If it fails again, contact Honda Tech Line to check the vehicle ID and software inventory on server database.
05B0 Invalid file detected during USB update. Please restart update process. USB flow - Failed due to update expiration time.
  • Confirm vehicle clock is set to the correct current time.
  • Retry the USB update.
  • If it fails again, contact Honda Tech Line to check the vehicle ID and software inventory on server database.
05B1 Invalid file detected during USB update. Please restart update process. USB flow - Update file cannot be accessed.
05B2 Invalid file detected during USB update. Please restart update process. USB flow - Update file format is invalid.
  • Retry the USB update using another USB drive.
    NOTE: USB drive format must indicate FAT16, FAT32, ext3, ext4, or extFAT. If it does not, use another USB drive that meets the format FAT16, FAT32, ext3, ext4, or extFAT and try the update again. Also make sure that the USB drive has enough capacity and there are no restrictions to upload data.
05BE Invalid file detected during the update. Please restart update process. Installation - Failed to validate certificate - can occur with OTA or USB flow.
  • Invalid file detected during the update. Please restart update process.
05BF Invalid file detected during the update. Please restart update process. Installation - Certificate has expired - can occur with OTA or USB flow.
1111 Software update application error occurred. Please try the update again. Synchronization error between Redbend and Wind River software. Wind River sends message to Redbend client that indicates Wind River thinks system is in the update flow, but actual Redbend client is idle.
  • Retry the update via the following methods: Wi-Fi, telematics control unit, USB.
  • If the update fails with all methods, do the TCU Test in the System Diagnostic Mode SMS Function Check  while there is good internet connection, and make sure it can access the network successfully. Record the information from the TCU Status screen.
  • If the TCU Test fails multiple times, replace the telematics control unit . If the TCU Test was successful, and the update failed with all methods, contact Honda Tech Line for further diagnosis.
1113 After update completed a compatible USB was not connected so the system could not write the update result. No action required. Report cannot be written to the USB because USB is not connected or USB cannot be mounted.

6380 Error downloading the update. Please verify the vehicle has internet connection and try again. Download - Download general error.
  • Retry the update.
  • Check the telematics control unit (if equipped) and Wi-Fi connection.
  • Once internet connection is verified, try the download again.
  • If the download fails again, replace the infotainment control unit .
6382 Error checking for the update. Please verify the vehicle has internet connection and try again. Check for Update - General device management session error.
  • Retry the update via the following methods: Wi-Fi, telematics control unit, USB.
  • If the update fails with all methods, do the TCU Test in the System Diagnostic Mode SMS Function Check  while there is good internet connection, and make sure it can access the network successfully. Record the information from the TCU Status screen.
  • If the TCU Test fails multiple times, replace the telematics control unit . If the TCU Test was successful, and the update failed with all methods, contact Honda Tech Line for further diagnosis.
6383 Check for Update - DM session network error user initiated. No Internet Connection. The system must be connected to the Internet.
  • Retry the update via the following methods: Wi-Fi, telematics control unit, USB.
  • If the update fails with all methods, do the TCU Test in the System Diagnostic Mode SMS Function Check  while there is good internet connection, and make sure it can access the network successfully. Record the information from the TCU Status screen.
  • If the TCU Test fails multiple times, replace the telematics control unit . If the TCU Test was successful, and the update failed with all methods, contact Honda Tech Line for further diagnosis.
6388 Another session is in progress. Please try to update again later. Another session is in progress.
  • Wait 3 - 5 minutes to start the next update.
6389 System timed out waiting for customer to approve download, or to approve install, or to insert a USB. Please try to update again. User interaction with OTA timed out.
  • Retry the update again.
638A Internal software error. Please try to update again. Timeout on getting installation conditions.
  • Retry the update via the following methods: Wi-Fi, telematics control unit, USB.
  • If the update fails with all methods, do the TCU Test in the System Diagnostic Mode SMS Function Check  while there is good internet connection, and make sure it can access the network successfully. Record the information from the TCU Status screen.
  • If the TCU Test fails multiple times, replace the telematics control unit . If the TCU Test was successful, and the update failed with all methods, contact Honda Tech Line for further diagnosis.
638C Update is no longer available. No further action required. Invalid download package because of purge update from server.

638E Check for Update - Failed to authenticate with server. Please try to update again. Check for update - Before device management conditions failed.
  • Retry the update via the following methods: Wi-Fi, telematics control unit, USB.

6404 During download customer canceled the session. No further action required. User canceled the session.

640D Failed to write inventory file to the USB drive. Please try preparing the USB files again or try another USB. USB flow - Failed to write inventory file.
  • Check USB drive format, size, and permission.
    NOTE: USB drive format must indicate FAT16, FAT32, ext3, ext4, or extFAT. If it does not, use another USB drive that meets the format FAT16, FAT32, ext3, ext4, or extFAT and try the update again. Also make sure that the USB drive has enough capacity and there are no restrictions to upload data.
  • Retry the USB update.
  • If it fails again, retry the USB update using another USB drive.
9003 Check for Update - Failed to authenticate with server. Please try to update again. Device management account in the tree.xml is corrupted or missing values - Not related to state.
  • Retry the update via the following methods: Wi-Fi, telematics control unit, USB.
  • If the update fails with all methods, do the TCU Test in the System Diagnostic Mode SMS Function Check  while there is good internet connection, and make sure it can access the network successfully. Record the information from the TCU Status screen.
  • If the TCU Test fails multiple times, replace the telematics control unit . If the TCU Test was successful, and the update failed with all methods, contact Honda Tech Line for further diagnosis.
