Confirmation Procedure

  1. Start the engine. Hold the engine speed at 3000 RPM without load (in P or N) until the radiator fan comes on, then let it idle.
  2. Test-drive the vehicle under these conditions:
    • HDS [ ECT Sensor 1 ] above 158 deg.F (70 deg.C)
    • Transmission in D
    • HDS [ Engine Speed ] between 1400 - 3500 RPM
    • Drive the vehicle at a steady speed of 25 mph (40 km/h) or less for 5 minutes, then drive at a steady speed of 26 mph (41 km/h) or more for at least 9 seconds.
  3. Monitor the HDS [ OBD STATUS (PGM-FI) ] for DTC P0133.
