Transfer Assembly Fluid Replacement and Level Check: Check

  1. Transfer Assembly Fluid Level - Check

    ■ Preconditions 

    • Engine Warmed Up (the radiator fan comes on twice)
    • Undercover Area Parts Removed
      • Engine Undercover
      • Rear Engine Undercover (With Rear Engine Undercover)

    ■ Procedure/Specifications 

    1. Remove the filler plug (A) with the sealing washer (B).

    2. Make sure the transfer assembly fluid level is at the proper level (C).

    Normal Conditions 

    Proper Transfer Assembly Fluid Level
    The transfer assembly fluid is dripping from the filler plug hole.

    3. If necessary, add the recommended fluid through the filler plug hole (D) until the fluid overflows.

    4. Install the filler plug with a new sealing washer.

    ■ Result 

    • If the transfer assembly fluid level is below the proper level, check for fluid leaks at the transfer assembly. If a problem is found, fix it before filling the transmission with the transfer assembly fluid.
