Audio and Visual System Symptom Troubleshooting - Touchpad Unit Does Not Work Properly: Inspection

+B_AUDIO, TOUCHPAD_CONT, RS485+, RS485-, GND, SH_RS485 Circuit Inspection 

Test Procedure 

• Preparation
  1. -

     Touchpad unit 16P connector: disconnected

  2. -

     Infotainment control unit connector A (20P): disconnected

• Procedure
  1. -

     Perform the inspection according to the following table.

	GND open wire inspection	OFF			There is less than 1 Ohm
	SH_RS485 open wire inspection	OFF			There is less than 1 Ohm
	TOUCHPAD_CONT open wire inspection	OFF			There is less than 1 Ohm
	RS485+ open wire inspection	OFF			There is less than 1 Ohm
	RS485- open wire inspection	OFF			There is less than 1 Ohm
	RS485+, RS485- shorted wire to wire inspection	OFF			There is more than 1 MOhm
	RS485+, SH_RS485 shorted wire to wire inspection	OFF			There is more than 1 MOhm
	RS485-, SH_RS485 shorted wire to wire inspection	OFF			There is more than 1 MOhm
	NOTE: Refer to the Open/Shorted Wire Inspection Description for the method to inspect the shorted circuit below, then start to inspect according to circumstances.
	TOUCHPAD_CONT shorted to ground inspection	OFF			Not shorted

Results 

• If abnormal, there is a problem in the circuit.
  NOTE: If the power supply inspection of the above table showed abnormally, do the additional Power Supply Inspection , to locate the failure.

Touchpad Unit Inspection 

Test Procedure 

• Install a known-good touchpad unit and attempt to reproduce the failure.

Results 

• If the failure is reproduced, there is a problem with other related components.
• If the symptom/DTC goes away, the touchpad unit must be faulty.

Infotainment Control Unit Inspection 

Test Procedure 

• If the other inspection item(s) indicated a normal condition, then it is determined that the remaining infotainment control unit is the cause.

Results 

• There is a problem with the infotainment control unit.
