PCM Power and Ground Circuit Troubleshooting (2.0L Engine): Inspection

+B_VBS/VBU, GND Circuit Inspection 

NOTICE: 

Before disconnecting the PCM connector, jump the SCS line with the HDS, and wait more than 1 minute.

Test Procedure 

• Preparation
• • PCM connector A (50P): disconnected
• Procedure
• • Perform the inspection according to the following table.

			(Disconnected)PCM connector A (50P) - Refer to: PCM Connector for Inputs and Outputs(3.0L Engine)  or PCM Connector for Inputs and Outputs(2.0L Engine) female terminals

	+B_VBS/VBU circuit inspection	OFF		12 V battery voltage [circuit type 1]
	GND open wire inspection	OFF		There is less than 1 Ohm

Results 

• If abnormal, there is a problem in the circuit.
  NOTE: If the power supply inspection of the above table showed abnormally, do the additional Power Supply Inspection , to locate the failure.

+B_IGP Circuit Inspection 

Test Procedure 

• Preparation
• • PGM-FI main relay 1: disconnected
• Procedure
• • Perform the inspection according to the following table.

			(Disconnected)PGM-FI main relay 1 4P socketfemale terminals

	+B_IGP circuit inspection 1	OFF		12 V battery voltage [circuit type 1]
	+B_IGP circuit inspection 2	OFF		12 V battery voltage[circuit type 1]

Results 

• If abnormal, there is a problem in the circuit.
  NOTE: If the power supply inspection of the above table showed abnormally, do the additional Power Supply Inspection , to locate the failure.

FI_MAIN_RLY_OUT, FI_MAIN_RLY_CL- Circuit Inspection 

NOTICE:

  • PCM connector A (50P): disconnected
• Procedure
• • Perform the inspection according to the following table.

	FI_MAIN_RLY_CL- open wire inspection	OFF			There is less than 1 Ohm
	NOTE: Refer to the Open/Shorted Wire Inspection Description for the method to inspect the shorted circuit below, then start to inspect according to circumstances.
	FI_MAIN_RLY_OUT shorted to ground inspection	OFF			Not shorted

Results 

• If abnormal, there is a problem in the circuit.

IG1, GND5(INJ_GND1), GND6(INJ_GND2), GND2, GND3, GND4 Open Wire Inspection 

NOTICE:

• Procedure
• • Perform the inspection according to the following table.

			(Disconnected) PCM connector E (80P) - Refer to: PCM Connector for Inputs and Outputs(3.0L Engine)  or PCM Connector for Inputs and Outputs(2.0L Engine) female terminals

	IG1 circuit inspection	ON		12 V battery voltage[circuit type 1]
	GND5(INJ_GND1) open wire inspection	OFF		There is less than 1 Ohm
	GND6(INJ_GND2) open wire inspection	OFF		There is less than 1 Ohm
	GND2 open wire inspection	OFF		There is less than 1 Ohm
	GND3 open wire inspection	OFF		There is less than 1 Ohm
	GND4 open wire inspection	OFF		There is less than 1 Ohm

Results 

• If abnormal, there is a problem in the circuit.
  NOTE: If the power supply inspection of the above table showed abnormally, do the additional Power Supply Inspection , to locate the failure.

PCM Inspection 

Test Procedure 

• If the other inspection item(s) indicated a normal condition, then it is determined that the remaining PCM is the cause.

Results 

• There is a problem with the PCM.
