   Removal 

   • Refer to the figure.
2. B.-
   NOTE:

   • Make sure the HDS has the latest HDS software version.
   • If you are replacing the PCM after substituting a known-good PCM, reinstall the original PCM, then do this procedure.
   • If you are removing the PCM, skip the procedures of DATA Read (Only for replacing PCM) and Procedure After Replacing/Substituting PCM.

   Preconditions 

   • HDS Connected

   Sub-Procedure 

   Removal 

   1. Only for replacing PCM: Select the following menu buttons on the HDS screen in sequence.

   • PGM-FI (System Selection Menu)
   • ECU Replacement
   • READ DATA
   NOTE:

   If the READ DATA indicates FAILED, go to the next step.

   NOTE:

   Doing this step copies (READS) the data from the original PCM so you can later download (WRITES) it into the new PCM.

   2. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

   3. Jump the SCS line with the HDS, and wait more than 1 minute.

   NOTE:

   This step must be done to protect the PCM from damage.

   4. Remove the PCM.

   Installation 

   1. Install the PCM.

   2. Connect the HDS

   3. Open the SCS.

   After Installation 

   Procedure After Replacing/Substituting PCM 

   • VIN Input

     NOTE:  If DTC P0630 VIN Not Programmed or Mismatch is stored, ignore it and go to the next step.

   • Keyless Access System Registration
   • Only for replacing PCM: Select the following menu buttons on the HDS screen in sequence.
     NOTE:

     If the READ DATA failed, skip this procedure, and replace the engine oil - Refer to: Engine Oil Replacement(3.0L Engine) and the oil filter .

   • • PGM-FI (System Selection Menu)
     • ECU Replacement
     • WRITE DATA
   • DTC Clear - Refer to: How to Troubleshoot the Fuel and Emissions Systems(3.0L Engine)
   • PCM Update - Refer to: PCM Update
   • PCM Idle Learn

   Remove: 

   • Cowl Cover Lid

   • Engine Coolant Drained - Refer to: Coolant Replacement(3.0L Engine)

   Key Information 

   Do the following before starting your work.

   Remove: 

   • Front Strut Brace Assembly

   After Installation 

   • Engine Coolant Refill - Refer to: Coolant Replacement(3.0L Engine)

   Preconditions 

   • Engine Coolant Drained - Refer to: Coolant Replacement(3.0L Engine)

   Key Information 

   Do the following before starting your work.

   Remove: 

   • Engine Undercover

   After Installation 

   • Engine Coolant Refill - Refer to: Coolant Replacement(3.0L Engine)

   • Air Intake Duct - Refer to: Air Cleaner Area(3.0L Engine)
   • Hood Latch

   After Installation 

   • Millimeter Wave Radar Aiming - Refer to: Millimeter Wave Radar Aiming
7. G.-

   Key Information 

   Do the following before starting your work.

   Remove: 

   • Front Bulkhead

     NOTE:  Remove the front bulkhead with the hood latch and the hood opener cable installed.

   Disconnect: 

   • Hood Opener Remote Cable

     NOTE:  Disconnect the hood opener remote cable only on the hood latch side.

   • Expansion Tank Hose

   Sub-Procedure

   Removal

   Installation 

   • Install the shroud until it bottoms as shown. (Figure 2)

   After Installation 

   • Engine Coolant Check - Refer to: Coolant Check(3.0L Engine)

   • Radiator Fan Shroud Assembly

   Installation 

   • Install the shroud until it bottoms as shown. (Figure 2)

   After Installation 

   • Engine Coolant Check - Refer to: Coolant Check(3.0L Engine)

   Key Information 

   NOTE:  For the removal and installation procedure, refer to Radiator Removal and Installation - Refer to: Radiator Removal and Installation(3.0L Engine) and the sub-procedure below.

   • Refer to the figure.

   Installation 

   NOTE:

   • If you are reinstalling the original radiator, make sure the radiator upper seals are not damaged or distorted. Replace it if it is.
   • If you are installing a new radiator, make sure the radiator upper seals are installed.

   After Installation 

   • Engine Coolant Refill - Refer to: Coolant Replacement(3.0L Engine)
