Millimeter Wave Radar Aiming (Integrated Driver Support System / Static Aiming) (2025): Adjustment
How to use this service information .
NOTICE:
- When working with a vehicle equipped with the electronic air suspension, be sure to set it to the leveling off mode to prevent unexpected operation. Refer to the Electronic Air Suspension System Service Precautions - Refer to: Electronic Air Suspension System Connector Fitting Precautions or Electronic Air Suspension System Service Precautions for the procedure.
- The following describes the details of the Integrated Driver Support System. Refer to Driving Support System Description for the function applied to your vehicle - Refer to: Driving Support System Description(Integrated Driver Support System (Camera and Five Radars)) (2025) or Driving Support System Description(Integrated Driver Support System) (2025) or Driving Support System Description (2022 2023 2024) .
NOTE:
- Before millimeter wave radar aiming, refer to Vehicle Conditions that require Millimeter Wave Radar Aiming .
- There are two methods of aiming for the millimeter wave radar: Dynamic radar aiming and static radar aiming, and do either one aiming procedure.
- The millimeter wave radar aiming is the automatic learning of vertical/horizontal reference points using the HDS. The millimeter wave radar has a self-diagnosis function, and if the aiming fails or is incomplete, a DTC will be stored.
Precautions before static radar aiming:
Set up the vehicle:
- The warning indicators (amber) of the ACC, LKAS, CMBS, and Safety Support are blinking or off.
- There are no DTCs for the integrated driver support system stored. (Except DTC P2583-54 - Refer to: DTC Troubleshooting: P2583-54 (2025)
or DTC Troubleshooting: P2583-54 (2022 2023 2024)
)
NOTE: If a DTC is indicated, troubleshoot the indicated DTC first.
- If the vehicle you are aiming was involved in a collision or if you suspect the wheel alignment is out of specifications, you must perform a wheel alignment prior to aiming the millimeter wave radar.
- Make sure the suspension has not been modified.
- Make sure all tire sizes are correct and that their pressures are correct.
- Make sure that there are no stains, dust, or dirt on the front "A" emblem/radar cover.
- The removed parts are installed.
- Remove cargo from the vehicle except the tool kit and the spare tire (if equipped).
- Make sure the steering wheel is pointed straight ahead, and do not turn it after setting the vehicle.
- Make sure the no one in the vehicle while the millimeter wave radar is being adjusted (aiming).
- Make sure that all doors are closed.
Conditions for the aiming environment:
- Amount of space require in front of the vehicle:4 m (13 ft) measured from the front bumper3. 5 m (11. 5 ft) in width3 m (10 ft) in height, measured from the floor
- When the millimeter wave radar is adjusted on a floor surface that is not flat (drainage slope etc.), the radar aiming cannot be adjusted correctly, check the levelness of the floor surface.
Prepare these items:
- HDS
- Tape measure and ruler
- Felt-tip pen
- Masking tape, curing tape, etc.
- String (A laser cross liner can be used as an alternative)
- Plumb bob
NOTE: When marking on the floor surface, use suitable tape to mark the exact locations.
- Marking of the Target Position - Set
Preconditions
- Transmission P Position/Mode
- Parking Brake Applied
Procedure
1. Set the string along the center-line of the vehicle - Refer to: Before Aiming Setting (2022 2023 2024) or Before Aiming Setting(Integrated Driver Support System / Static Aiming) (2025) or Before Aiming Setting(Integrated Driver Support System (Camera and Five Radars) / Static Aiming) (2025) . (Figure 1)

2. Route the cord (a) through the collar and place it on the stand set. (Figure 2)
Figure 2
3. Protect the front "A" emblem/radar cover (b) with masking tape and mark the center (T) of the front "A" emblem/radar cover's outer diameter. (Figure 3)
NOTE: Make sure the emblem is not scratched.

6. Place the stand set at the specified distance from the mark (T) in the center of the front "A" emblem/radar cover. (Figure 6)
Distance Details (Figure 6)
Value e 1, 900 mm (74. 80 in) Figure 6
7. Mark the point (S) on the floor with the hole (f) of the stand set. (Figure 6)
8. Move the stand set out of the millimeter wave radar detection range.
9. Remove the masking tape from the front "A" emblem/radar cover.

Preconditions
- HDS Connected
NOTE: Troubleshoot any DTCs first before proceeding. If DTC P2583-54 - Refer to: DTC Troubleshooting: P2583-54 (2025) or DTC Troubleshooting: P2583-54 (2022 2023 2024) is indicated, proceed with the aiming procedure.
NOTICE:
Do not place the stand set within the millimeter wave radar detection range, until instructions are displayed on the HDS screen.
Procedure
1. Select the following menu buttons on the HDS screen in sequence.
- Driving Support (System Selection Menu)
- Integrated Driver Support System
- Adjustment
- Static Radar Aiming
2. Perform the Static Radar Aiming with the HDS. The warning indicators (a) and the aiming indicators (b) are displayed on the MID as follows. (Figure 1 and 2)
Figure 1
Figure 2
3. Confirm the instructions to set the aiming target displayed on the HDS.
NOTE: When there is a reflective object within the detection range of the millimeter wave radar and the millimeter wave radar receives the false reflection of electric waves, an error is displayed on the HDS. In this case, move the reflective object within the detection range, or move the vehicle to another place that meets the working environment and perform the aiming. If the millimeter wave radar aiming is interrupted after it is started, the aiming will be incomplete.
4. Place the stand set on the point (S) at the position where the electric wave reflecting part (c) of the stand set is directed toward the vehicle. (Figure 3)
NOTICE: There are no people or objects between the vehicle and the stand set.
Figure 3
5. Perform the static radar aiming with the HDS and confirm the millimeter wave radar aiming completion on the HDS.
NOTICE: If the radar aiming fails, record the failure code displayed on the HDS screen.
6. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
7. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
Result
Confirm the warning indicators are off on the MID. (Figure 4)
- If the aim fails for some reason during the aiming, or if it is stopped halfway, an error code will be displayed on the HDS. Refer to \"Failure Codes\" and repair or replace parts as necessary. After the work, you must start the aiming procedure again.
