Resetting the Panoramic Glass Roof Motor-Control Unit: Procedure
How to use this service information .
NOTICE:
- Do not fully open the panoramic glass roof or the power sunshade until these procedures are complete. Otherwise, you will damage the mechanical components of the panoramic glass roof or power sunshade assembly.
- When working with a vehicle equipped with the electronic air suspension, be sure to set it to the leveling off mode to prevent unexpected operation. Refer to the Electronic Air Suspension System Service Precautions - Refer to: Electronic Air Suspension System Connector Fitting Precautions or Electronic Air Suspension System Service Precautions for the procedure.
Do the panoramic glass roof motor-control unit reset, when any of the following have occurred:
- The panoramic glass roof stops during AUTO/MANUAL operation.
- The panoramic glass roof does not work using the AUTO functions.
- The panoramic glass roof was moved manually while the 12 volt battery was dead or disconnected.
- The panoramic glass roof motor was removed or replaced with a new one.
- Any of components related to the panoramic glass roof were replaced or removed and installed.
- Panoramic Glass Roof Motor-Control Unit and Power Sunshade Control Unit - Reset
Preconditions
- Panoramic Glass Roof Motor-Control Unit Temperature Less than 122 deg.F (50 deg.C) and greater than 32 deg.F (0 deg.C).NOTE:
This procedure cannot be started if the temperature is above 122 deg.F (50 deg.C). Move the vehicle indoors if necessary and allow it to cool down.
- Wait at least 10 minutes since the previous operation before starting the reset procedure.
Procedure
NOTE:Close the driver's door, and leave it closed until the procedure is complete.
1. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF (LOCK) mode.
2. Press and hold the panoramic glass roof switch to its tilt position, and press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.
3. Release the tilt switch, and press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF (LOCK) mode.
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3, three more times.
NOTE:Check if the AUTO OPEN and AUTO CLOSE function of the panoramic glass roof and the power sunshade still operate. If they still operate, the AUTO functions have not been cleared, go back to step 1.
NOTICE: Do not fully open the panoramic glass roof or the power sunshade until steps 5-10 are complete. Otherwise, you will damage the mechanical components of the panoramic glass roof or power sunshade assembly.
5. Open the power sunshade to its half-open position.
6. Start the engine.
7. Press and hold the panoramic glass roof switch to its AUTO CLOSE (second detent) position. The glass will fully close, open, then close. Once it is closed, release the switch.
8. Press and hold the power sunshade switch to its AUTO CLOSE (second detent) position. The sunshade will close, open, then close. Once it is closed, release the switch.
9. Open the panoramic glass roof using the AUTO OPEN switch, then close it by using the AUTO CLOSE switch.
NOTE:If the panoramic glass roof does not open or close using the AUTO functions, go back to step 5.
10. Open the power sunshade in the AUTO OPEN position, then close it in the AUTO CLOSE position.
