Power Mirror Actuator Test: Test

How to use this service information .

NOTICE: 

When working with a vehicle equipped with the electronic air suspension, be sure to set it to the leveling off mode to prevent unexpected operation. Refer to the Electronic Air Suspension System Service Precautions - Refer to: Electronic Air Suspension System Connector Fitting Precautions or Electronic Air Suspension System Service Precautions for the procedure.

  1. Power Mirror Actuator - Test

    Preconditions 

    Procedure/Specifications 

    Actuator Test 

    • Check the actuator operation by connecting power and ground according to the table. (Figure 1, 2, and 3)

      NOTICE:  Before testing, make sure not to short actuator circuit.

    Defogger Test 

    • Check for continuity between the terminals according to the table. There should be continuity. (Figure 1 and 4)

    Retract actuator (Figure 3)

    Mirror defogger (Figure 4)

    Result 

    Power Mirror Actuator 

    • If the result is not as specified, check for an open or high resistance in the wire between the connector and the actuator. If the wire is OK, replace the power mirror .

    Retract Actuator 

    • If the result is not as specified, check for an open or high resistance in the wire between the connector and the actuator. If the wire is OK, replace the power mirror .

    Mirror Defogger 

    • If the result is not as specified, check for an open or high resistance in the wire between the connector and the mirror holder. If the wire is OK, replace the mirror holder .
