DTC P16F4 : Starter Cut Relay 2 Control Circuit Low Voltage
General Description
The powertrain control module (PCM) monitors the starter control system. Open load and short circuit to ground can be detected only if starter cut relay driver IC is not active. If the PCM detects a short to ground or an open in the starter cut relay 2 circuit, the PCM stores a DTC.

Malfunction Threshold
The PCM detects a short to ground or an open in the starter cut relay 2 circuit for at least 1.5 seconds.
Possible Cause
The causes shown may not be a complete list of all potential problems, and it is possible that there may be other causes.
- Starter cut relay 2 circuit ST_CUT_RLY2_CL- line open
- Starter cut relay 2 circuit ST_CUT_RLY2_CL- line short to ground
- PCM internal circuit failure
Diagnosis Details
Conditions for setting the DTC
When a malfunction is detected, a Pending DTC, a Confirmed DTC, the freeze data, and the on-board snapshot are stored in the PCM memory. The MIL does not come on.
Conditions for clearing the DTC
The Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, the freeze data, and the on-board snapshot can be cleared with the scan tool clear command.
