Confirmation Procedure

1. Start the engine.

2. Hold the engine speed at 3, 000 rpm without load (CVT in P or N, M/T in neutral) until the radiator fan comes on, then let it idle for 2 minutes.

3. Confirm and note the HDS [ECT Sensor 1] value.

4. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

5. Open the hood, and let the engine cool for 3 hours.

6. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

7. If the HDS [ECT Sensor 1] value changes less than 18 deg.F (10 deg.C), the failure is duplicated.
