Audio and Visual System Error Codes

NOTE:

The audio and visual system can display a few error messages when some problems are detected with the system. This is not a complete list of audio and visual system error messages. Refer to symptom troubleshooting.

Audio Unit Error Messages (Display Audio Type) 

Error Message Displayed Possible Cause Solution
The system is unable to start due to excessive heat. The system will start after the system cools. This message appears when the display temperature is too high. Park the vehicle in a cooler place for a while. If the high temperature status is cancelled, the audio unit turns on the display.
Sounds are restricted because the AMP is in protection mode. This message appears when the stereo amplifier temperature is too high, and the stereo amplifier inhibits sound output. Park the vehicle in a cooler place for a while. If the high temperature status is cancelled, the stereo amplifier outputs the sound again.

USB Error Messages 

Error Message Displayed Possible Cause Solution
A charging error has occurred with the connected USB device *1 Faulty power supply to USB device. Check for hard error codes .
Bad USB Device Please Check Owner's Manual *2 Faulty power supply to USB device. Disconnect the USB device, and turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode then the ON mode. Then connect a known-good USB device to the USB port. If the error message appears on the screen, replace the audio unit .
Connect Retry The audio unit failed to synchronize with the iPod. Appears when the system does not acknowledge the iPod. Reconnect the iPod.
No Data *1 No Song *2 No music file(s) can be found in a USB device. Check the music files in the USB device.
USB Error *2 There is an internal problem with the audio unit. Replace the audio unit .
Unplayable File The audio unit cannot read the file(s).
  • Check the files in the USB device. There is a possibility that the files have been damaged
  • The WMA files or the AAC file cannot be read with the (DRM) copy protection rights
Device No Response(5 seconds after)No Device Connected *1 Cannot recognition the connected USB device. The USB device is faulty.
USB Error *1 Unsupported Device *1 iPod Connect retry *1 Unsupported *2
  • Unsupported USB device is connected
  • Unsupported file system
  • USB device communication error
Connect the applicable USB device (see the Owner's Manual).
Unsupported Ver *2 Unsupported version iPod is connected. Connect the applicable iPod (see the Owner's Manual).
Hub Unsupported *1 Unsupported USB hub is connected. Connect the applicable USB hub (see the Owner's Manual).

XM Error Messages 

NOTE:

Do these checks with the vehicle parked outside with a clear view of the southern horizon.

Error Message Displayed Possible Cause Solution
Check Tuner Loss of communication with SXM module. Replace the tuner unit .
Check Antenna XM antenna/antenna lead error. Check for hard error codes .
No Signal Loss of signal. Both terrestrial and satellite antennas have lost the signal. Park the vehicle outside with a clear view of the southern horizon.
Required Channel Not Available Selected XM channel is not in service. Try another XM channel.
Required Channel Not Subscribed. Selected XM channel is not subscribed. Check the XM channel subscription status.
