DTC Advanced Diagnostics: P05B7 (3.5L Engine)
DTC P05B7: Shutter Grille Actuator (Lower) Malfunction
General Description
The shutter grille system opens/closes the shutter depending on the driving conditions. The system improves fuel efficiency by reducing the wind drag. The shutter is controlled by the shutter grille which integrates the actuator with CPU. The powertrain control module (PCM) sends open/close requests which depends on the driving conditions to the shutter grille via the local interconnect network (LIN) line. If the shutter grille actuator detects the shutter grille system as voltage abnormal, the PCM confirms the abnormality and stores a DTC.
Monitor Execution, Sequence, Duration, DTC Type
| Execution | Continuous |

Malfunction Threshold
The shutter grille power supply voltage is 17.5 V or more or 7.5 V or less for at least 2.5 seconds when the PCM power supply is 10.5 V or more.
Possible Cause
The causes shown may not be a complete list of all potential problems, and it is possible that there may be other causes.
- Shutter grille line failure
- Shutter grille internal circuit failure
Diagnosis Details
Conditions for setting the DTC
When a malfunction is detected, a Pending DTC, a Confirmed DTC, the freeze data, and the on-board snapshot are stored in the PCM memory. The MIL does not come on.
Conditions for clearing the DTC
The Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, the freeze data, and the on-board snapshot can be cleared with the scan tool clear command.
