DTC U0301: PGM-FI System and Transmission System Program Version Mismatch
General Description
The powertrain control module (PCM) and the transmission control module (TCM) exchange the software versions mutually by communicating with controller area network (CAN) and checks the compatibility. The PCM software version is compared with the TCM software version which is received from the TCM. If the PCM software version is old, the PCM detects a malfunction and stores a DTC.

Diagnosis Details
Conditions for setting the DTC
When a malfunction is detected, the MIL comes on and a Pending DTC, a Confirmed DTC, the freeze data, and the on-board snapshot are stored in the PCM memory.
Conditions for clearing the DTC
The MIL is cleared if the malfunction does not return in three consecutive trips in which the diagnostic runs. The MIL, the Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, the freeze data, and the on-board snapshot can be cleared with the scan tool clear command.
