DTC P00FE : Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Vent Line Blockage
General Description
The fuel tank pressure (FTP) sensor is mounted at the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister. Therefore, a blocked line between the fuel tank and the EVAP canister is not detected by the general test algorithm. The vacuum build up for the leak diagnosis is faster if the line is blocked than if the line is not blocked and you have the connection to the big additional volume of the fuel tank. The space volume of the EVAP system, which was removed over the EVAP canister purge valve is calculated and compared to the diagnosis threshold. If the space volume is small, the powertrain control module (PCM) detects a malfunction and stores a DTC.

Diagnosis Details
Conditions for setting the DTC
When a malfunction is detected during the first drive cycle, a Pending DTC is stored in the PCM memory. If the malfunction returns in the next (second) drive cycle, the MIL comes on and a Confirmed DTC, the freeze data, and the on-board snapshot are stored.
Conditions for clearing the DTC
The MIL is cleared if the malfunction does not return in three consecutive trips in which the diagnostic runs. The MIL, the Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, the freeze data, and the on-board snapshot can be cleared with the scan tool clear command.
