Self-Diagnostic Function

When a problem is detected by the self-diagnostic function, the BSI stops operating and the BSI radar unit will display the warning information on the MID.

When mud, dirt, wet snow, leaves, or other foreign material sticks to the side of the rear bumper, the BSI system stops operating and the message on the MID indicates that the BSI radar units must be cleaned. It also turns on the safety support indicator (amber) at the same time, and stores the DTC(s).

When the obstruction or contamination is removed, the indicator on the MID goes off and the BSI system automatically returns to ON.
