Diagnostic Test

  1. CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC 
    1. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

      Is the DTC active?

      Yes 

      • Go To  2

      No 

      • Test complete.
  2. CHECK WIRING AND CONNECTIONS TO THE PASSENGER SEAT BELT SWITCH 
    1. Check all connections between the seat belt switch and the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC).
    2. Check for shorted or open circuits in the wiring to the seat belt switch.

      Was there a fault detected?

      Yes 

      • Repair or replace the wiring according to service procedures.

      No 

      • Go To.

        Refer to  3.

  3. TEST THE PASSENGER SEAT BELT SWITCH 
    1. Turn the ignition key to STOP position.
    2. Replace the switch with test resistor R160 from test kit no. 1806627000.
    3. Turn ignition key to the ON position and test for an active code.

      Is the code active?

      No 

      Yes 

      • Test complete.
