Removal And Installation
If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, use a diagnostic scan tool to perform the Flash Programming Procedure (if available). This will confirm that the module is updated to the latest applicable software level.
REMOVAL
- Remove the belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
or BELLY PAN, REAR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
or BELLY PAN, REAR SUSPENSION, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
or BELLY PAN, SIDE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

- Disconnect the Drivetrain Control Module (DTCM) wire harness connector (1).
- Remove the DTCM bolts (1a) and remove the DTCM (1b).
INSTALLATION
- Install a NEW O-ring (1c).
- Install the DTCM (1b), DTCM bolts (1a) and tighten to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Connect the DTCM wire harness connector (1).
- Install the belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATIONBELLY PAN, REAR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATIONBELLY PAN, REAR SUSPENSION, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATIONBELLY PAN, SIDE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, a diagnostic scan tool MUST be used to determine if alignment of the PROXI configuration data into the new ECU is needed. If PROXI alignment is needed, follow the routine outlined in the diagnostic scan tool for PROXI Configuration Alignment under the Body Control Module (BCM) Miscellaneous Functions menu.
