Checking Fluid Levels: Notes
CAUTION:
Multitronic 01J transmission requires a different ATF from that used in fixed-ratio automatic transmissions.
CAUTION:
DO NOT start engine when there is very little or no ATF left in transmission following a repair or as a result of massive loss of ATF. Fill transmission first with 4.5-5.0 liters of ATF.
NOTE:
ATF level will vary according to temperature. If ATF level is checked when ATF temperature is too low, overfilling may result. If ATF level is checked when AFT is too high, under filling may result. Overfilling or under filling will impair function of transmission. ATF temperature appears in display of vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051.
