Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module J527, removing and installing
- If control module is replaced, select "Guided Functions" of respective control module in.
Removing
- Remove Steering Column Switch Module (SCSM) → Steering Column Switch Module (SCSM), removing and installing .
CAUTION:
Ensure steering is in straight ahead and centered prior to removing spiral spring.
Position of spiral spring must not be changed once removed.
- Carefully release catches - arrows -.
- Pull return spring with slip ring - 2 - with Steering Angle Sensor G85 - 1 - off from steering column switch module (SCSM).

- Remove bolts - arrows -.
- Remove Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module J527 - 1 - from steering column switch module.
Installing
Installation is performed in reverse order of removal, noting the following:
- Make sure that all 3 catches as well as the harness connectors are engaged correctly.
- Install Steering Column Switch Module (SCSM) → Steering Column Switch Module (SCSM), removing and installing .
If Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module J527 was replaced, it must be coded.
